PRESS RELEASE:
- 9/30/08
Middlebury, VT - After months of preparation and planning, the Point Sebago Sprint and Point Sebago Half Triathlon's have officially been canceled. Race director Jerrod Rushton made the official announcement this morning after carefully considering the slowing economy and other logistical and financial concerns surrounding the events. "This decision was not an easy one at all. I have been working very hard over the past several months to bring these two new events to Maine and the New England triathlon community. In the end, issues both personal and professional (coupled with our ever slowing economy) have made the promotion and production of the events unsustainable. The decision will enable Rushton to focus all his energy and efforts on the four event Vermont Sun Triathlon Series events, which have been held from Branbury State Park in Salisbury, VT since 1991.
